The brief

When a landmark is destroyed, its memory usually goes with it. UNESCO wanted to keep that memory alive for a generation raised on games.

The idea

Endangered and destroyed landmarks rebuilt block by block inside Minecraft, where younger audiences already spend their time.

What I did

Designed the motion for the film that rebuilds destroyed landmarks inside Minecraft, block by block. Voxel builds used as transitions, so the monuments assemble the way the game plays.

Result

Bronze at Cannes Lions, Yellow and Wood Pencils at D&AD, Silver at The One Show, multiple awards at El Ojo, and adoption as a teaching resource in Brazilian schools.
